NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN (NID)

National Institute of Design (NID) is internationally acclaimed as one of the best Educational and Research Institutions for Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT integrated (Experiential) Design. It is a statutory institute under the Department for promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The NID conducts NID DAT (NID Design Aptitude Test) Entrance Exam for admission to the B. Des and M. Des Programs offered at its participating institutes or campuses.

The B. Des program is offered at the campuses of NID IIT Ahmedbad, IIT Andrapradesh, IIT Haryana, IIT Madhyapradesh and IIT Assam, while M. Des program is available at the campuses of IIT Ahmedbad, IIIT Bangalore and IIT Gandhi Nagar.

The B. Des has a combined intake capacity of 425 seats while M. Des program has 347 seats.
